G erman born artist Birgit Wudenka McMullen is a world traveler and mother who finally settled in Cedar City, Utah. Her artistic career spans 12 years, during which she has explored numerous mediums, styles, and subject matters. She has a degree in fine arts and an advanced degree in psychology, which she feels go very well together since expressions in art are never just sensory based, but rather determined by our inner workings, our beliefs and emotional state of mind. “Artistic expressions of an artist, just as life, are ever-evolving and changing. Surroundings change, we move to different places, maybe different cultures. We meet new people and see new colors.”

Her current work is both influenced by the rural life style surrounding Cedar City and her love for teaching children. She feels inspired by the natural abilities and raw creativity expressed by elementary children and the tools they choose to create with.
