Royden Card

The visual poetry I'm after is not a re-creation of nature but the creation of something new.  I paint to hold the hint of an idea, one which comes through the eyes, a visual sensation- thought without words, the same way nature gives us golden light on wheat, patters in weathered stone or clouds, the color of lichen or sky.  Painting allows discovery.  It creates a structure for visual sensation and communication.
